MTScreen Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026.

MTScreen connects your phone to your motorcycle display. No account is required. Sharing usage statistics and error reports is optional and off by default.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Mateusz Wilczyński. Privacy contact: privacy@mtscreen.app.

Using the app

The app uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and granted permissions to connect to your motorcycle. Your selected motorcycle, preferences and a local diagnostic journal are stored on your phone. You can copy or share the journal yourself; it is not automatically sent to our analytics service.

Shared screen content is transmitted to the motorcycle, not to the MTScreen analytics server. Android Auto and other apps, such as Google Maps, may independently process data under their providers’ policies.

Optional diagnostics

When you enable “Share diagnostic data”, we collect:

Identifiers let us link events from the same installation, so we do not describe these data as anonymous. Diagnostics exclude screen content, routes, GPS coordinates, Bluetooth addresses, network names, passwords, local journal contents and raw exceptions.

We use these data to understand app performance and fix problems. Processing is based on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Declining does not restrict motorcycle connection features.

You can withdraw consent in Settings. Disabling diagnostics stops further collection and deletes the unsent queue and local installation identifier. It does not automatically delete data already received by the server. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Server and retention

Data are sent to the MTScreen API hosted with OVHcloud. The controller uses the data; the hosting provider processes them as needed to provide hosting. We do not use Firebase Analytics.

Your IP address is processed when handling requests, determining country and limiting excessive requests. It is not stored as an analytics event field. Request handling and server protection rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

- The phone queue holds up to 500 events. Events older than 7 days are removed when the queue is written or prepared for upload; they may remain locally longer if the queue is not processed again. - Daily server maintenance deletes individual events older than 90 days. - Aggregated daily counts without installation identifiers are deleted once older than 730 days, during daily maintenance. - VPS database backups are removed once they reach 15 days at the next successful daily backup run. They may remain longer if that process fails. Manual recovery copies on the controller’s computer are stored separately and deleted manually when no longer needed for data recovery; VPS automatic cleanup does not cover them. - We do not keep an access log of every website visit or API request. Infrastructure error and security logs may nevertheless include technical data, including IP addresses. The system keeps current log files and four weekly archives; a separate system journal removes its oldest entries when its storage limit is reached. That journal has no fixed retention period in days. OVHcloud may involve group entities outside the European Economic Area, for example for technical support. According to the provider, processing outside the EEA is covered by appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses. See OVHcloud’s data protection information for details. You can contact the controller to obtain information about the safeguards applicable to MTScreen data and a copy of them.

Website and email contact

The privacy policy page does not use cookies, analytics tools or external fonts. When you open it, the server handles your IP address and the technical request data needed to deliver the page.

If you contact us by email, we process your address and correspondence to respond and handle your request. This is based on our legitimate interest in providing support (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) or, for data-rights requests, our legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). We retain correspondence while handling the matter, and afterwards only as needed to demonstrate compliance or establish, exercise or defend legal claims until the applicable time limits expire. Providing correspondence data is voluntary, but without a return address or a description of the issue we may be unable to respond. Email is hosted by OVHcloud.

Your rights and contact

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also complain to a data protection authority, including Poland’s President of the Personal Data Protection Office: uodo.gov.pl.

Contact the email address above about your data. As we do not maintain accounts, additional information may be needed to associate your request with the correct installation. An email address alone does not identify its events.

MTScreen does not use diagnostics to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
